Public education about symptoms, stigma and the support first responders may need after traumatic service.

Founded in 2015, K9s 4 Valour has raised awareness of PTSD symptoms, promoted the benefits of assistance dogs and advocated for stronger standards for service dogs supporting first responders.

Why we exist
First responders can carry the impact of emergency work long after the uniform comes off. K9s 4 Valour was formed to make PTSD better understood and to highlight the practical, life-changing support a properly trained assistance dog can provide.

Legacy & transition
Our ACNC record states that after losing several board and support members, the board agreed to an orderly wind-up by 30 June 2024, with assistance-dog-in-training Benny and remaining funds to be transitioned to suitable recipients.
Because the public record may not reflect every recent step, please contact the board for the current status before donating, volunteering or making referrals.
